Park road flooded

e received this note from our friends at CHERP (Community Hooked on East River Park), whose member, Ellen, spoke with Bob Redmond from the Parks Department. Construction pace has picked up, and with the Bond Inspector in the park daily, the contractor is really working.

Projections: Promenade to be finished down to Houston Street by Spring 2009, and the entire promenade will be complete in 2010 (that'll make it a full decade after it was condemned by ex-Mayor Giuliani - GSN). Roadway next to FDR Drive will be renovated in piecemeal, the contractor has started with the northern section from Con Edison to the 10th Street footbridge, slated to reopen by Spring 2009. Next section will stretch from 10th to 6th Street, and so on.
